Golden Slipper Club & Charities has been an important philanthropic presence in the Greater Philadelphia region since 1922. The Susanna DeLaurentis Charitable Foundation (SDCF) was established to honor the memory and spirit of Susanna DeLaurentis, who died of neuroblastoma at age 10. Funds raised by the Foundation are applied to:
- Awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors who excel academically despite extraordinary personal adversity
- Recognizing students who demonstrate uncommon sensitivity to peers with special needs

Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House
People come from all over the country, and around the world, to treat their seriously ill children in Philadelphia hospitals. Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House is the first of two hundred houses in operation internationally . existing to create a "home away from home" for families treating their ill children. Families stay at the house for two weeks on average; however, many return throughout the year, and some have stayed for as long as one year.
